KITCHEN BEFORE PHOTOS & DESIGN PLAN - YOUNG DREAM PROJECT
We didn’t knock out any walls…or even gut the entire space, but what we did do is give the 1997 kitchen from the Young Dream Project a whole new look! Here are the BEFORE photos.
WHAT WE DID DO
- Removed the counter tops and backsplash
- Took out the cabinet above the existing stove top, and added a custom hood
- Painted the cabinets
- Changed a set of upper cabinets to glass doors, to add interest and depth
- Swapped out the cabinet knobs and pulls
- Replaced the primary kitchen sink and faucets
- Changed the wall paint color
- Replaced the flooring
CUSTOM HOOD DESIGN OPTIONS
Once we established our design plan, I set to work designing options for the custom hood. This is the first batch I presented to my clients. The custom hood design was critical in giving the kitchen a more updated look and for creating a beautiful feature wall.
Option D turned out to be the favorite, so from there we got more specific with dimensions so we could pass on the final design to the contractor.
DESIGN CONCEPTS FOR COLORS AND MATERIAL
Simultaneously while we finalized the hood design, my client and I worked together to define the aesthetic direction we wanted to go with the space. Here’s an early concept board I presented to the client, based on her already great sense of style.
FINALIZING COLORS AND MATERIALS
After a few power-packed days of shopping together, we finalized our selections.
There’s just too much to say and show in one post, so be sure to come back to see how this kitchen transforms. You won’t want to miss it.... here's a little sneak peek.
