STUDY DESIGN PLANS - YELLOW BEND PROJECT
How about a masculine, dark and moody study loaded with beautiful custom millwork, built-in cabinetry, and then topped off with the most gorgeous brass light fixtures, and cabinet hardware that you ever did see!! At the Yellow Bend Project we did just that!
My client (who by the way is creative, visionary and has impeccable taste), provided the architect’s plan showing cabinets only along one wall in the space, and a concept photo of a masculine study that had a built-in sofa alcove...from there my mind started to race with all the possibilities.
Keeping with the masculine feel for the space, I put together this design board, showing a mix of men’s wear textiles, a vintage rug layered with a natural fiber rug, leather upholstery, taxidermy and brass light fixtures.
CUSTOM CABINET DESIGNS
I extended the amount of custom cabinets that were originally proposed, by wrapping them around the window wall, where I incorporated a built-in window seat, flanked with upper cabinets and storage underneath,
A built-in desk with a TV niche continued on to the next wall…and of course included in the design was a built-in sofa niche, as per my client’s inspiration.
Starting to the left when you enter the space, through the French doors, and then working clock-wise around the space, here's the cabinet designs and elevations. *Notice the plan views below the elevations which help explain better what’s included.
Showing the sofa cabinet wall to the left and window seat to the right in a quick perspective sketch.
There's just too much to say and share about a project in one post, so next up will be detail photos of the completed built space. Here's a sneak peek.
Thanks for stopping by!
